We met Alexis Noble, fashion brand owner one fall afternoon in Manhattan as she was visiting New York to explore the NY fashion scene. Alexis is on a mission to showcase to the world her fashion designs one stitch at a time.
Alexis discusses her love for fashion at a young age in the interview below!
What sparked your interest in fashion?
Honestly I’ve have had a interest for fashion since I was a little girl and didn’t even know. I always try to dress my baby dolls and make my own little outfits with curtians and bed sheets. It was definitely an imagination thing. Growing up I didn’t know what designer was and didn’t know that clothes cost money. I just wanted to be cute.
Are you self taught or did you study fashion design?
I did go to school for Fashion merchandising which I have a assoicates degree in. I also am self taught with my creative side and with things I think of and want to go out and get done myself.
How did you begin to get the word out and what role does social media play in your PR efforts?
I’ve gotten my word out through talking and networking. I’ve done a lot of giving away merchandise to let people know about my brand and how l work as a business owner. My social media is about 60% of my pr but does need approvements. There are other outlets that I need to research about but I am glued to Instagram.
Are there any types of clothing that you avoid making?
Yes, and no I don’t like to do things that other are doing unless its Something that I will do short term and I know will fade out. I like to make clothes in the moment and not because someone posted it.
What advice would you give to the next aspiring fashion shepreneurs?
Follow your dream. Sit down get a plan together and do it.
